All is Memory

With a title taken from a Tennessee Williams quote, All Is Memory, released on New Year’s Day 2021, felt like an appropriate album for the depths of COVID’s impact crater, when so much focus turned to retrospection. Here Hotel Neon maintained their sense of guitar-based ambient build and immersion with a series of songs that captured not only a sense of contemplation but a feeling of something just beyond a translucent veil. The spectral key rhythmic part of “Toward a Distant Shore” and the appropriately flowing “Tidal” are quite lovely.
