Baile & Vibes

VHOOR’s Baile & Vibes follows Baile & Beats and Baile & Trill in the producer’s Baile series (there have been many more since) swapping out the grit of classic Baile for a much sleeker sound. Though it may not be quite as rough and ready as the Baile coming out of Rio’s favelas, the Brazilian producer doesn’t lose too much of the energy or dark undertones — the grooves are tight and dense, and he does a great job at intertwining sampled Afro-Brazilian percussion with footwork, trap, grime, and hip hop beats, harnessing the power of syncopation and building on the melodic intensity of each sample.
