When Entombed drummer Nicke Anderson left that venerable Swedish death metal institution, nobody expected him to start a garage punk band as his follow-up act. Their first few felt uneven, but record number five mined 70s AM radio for gold and came up with some of the most inspiring hard rock anthems of the early 00’s. The title track, “Rainy Days Revisited,” and especially “It’s Good but It Just Ain’t Right” find that perfect sweet spot between 50s rock ‘n’ roll, 70s boogie rock, and early 80s arena rock with just enough punk bite to make them feel relevant to the 21st century. It’s good AND it’s just right.
