Josquin: Motets & Mass Movements

Composer
Released

This recording is a match made in heaven: music by Josquin Des Prez, arguably the greatest composer of the third-generation Franco-Flemish School, performed by the Brabant Ensemble, arguably the greatest of the Oxbridge-style choral groups currently recording. While the program on this disc may look at first like a bit of a grab-bag, it’s actually the result of new research on Josquin’s output, and showcases some heart-stoppingly fine music all sung with the Brabants’ trademark warmth and clarity.
