Saltash Bells

Released

By turns jaunty, haunting, and ethereal, Saltash Bells is an exploration of what can be done by one person with a variety of reed and electronic instruments. Wielding three registers of saxophone and three of clarinet, along with a harmonica and a synthesizer, John Surman creates fun and colorful sound collages (“Whistman’s Wood”), eerie solo contemplations (“Glass Flower”), carefully composed virtual ensemble pieces (“Triadichorum”) and much more. Jazz fans are the most obvious audience, but just about anyone will enjoy this album.
