One of the finest living exponents of old-school swing guitar, John Pizzarelli has always focused on standards and especially the American Songbook. Here he focuses more tightly on classic songs associated most closely with musicals and movies of the early- to mid-20th century. Some will be very familiar (“Tea for Two,” “I Want to Be Happy”), others more obscure (“I Love Betsy,” “Coffee in a Cardboard Cup”), all delivered in his trademark smooth but hard-swinging style.
