Strange Times

Released

It wasn’t planned as their last proper full-length album — at least, it was that for some time to come — but signing to the Geffen label and excellent production from Dave Allen meant that when the Chameleons recorded Strange Times, they took advantage and fully delivered. The slow build of “Swamp Thing” became their anthem, but the vivid swing of “Caution,” the harrowing sentiments of “Soul In Isolation” and “Mad Jack,” the utterly bereft beauty of “Tears” and much more all showed the quartet simply at the top of their game, nearly peerless.
