Walk With Me

Released

Walk With Me is David Tholfsen’s first appearance on a record in 25 years, but it feels appropriately within the lineage of his recorded discography. Having previously recorded with Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 and as the chief songwriter and vocalist of his own band U.S. Saucer, he stretched his voice in unusual ways against a backdrop of alien Americana. On Walk With Me, Tholfsen returns to similar vocal techniques, this time only backed by multitracked doppelgangers. The chants heard here were all devised while hiking familiar Oakland trails, and give a sense that each one carries a story of the twists and turns of the beaten paths Tholfsen has trod upon.
