You Only See the Way Up

Released

Lengthy compositions that take up a CD’s worth of time is nothing new for Celer, but on 2020’s You Only See The Way Up Will Long created one of his most remarkable works in that vein, a quietly majestic meditation that earns every minute. The actual piece that makes up the album is titled in turn “But You Feel The Way Down,” and paired with the cover art of a public fountain’s water arc it’s a skillful way to depict Long’s combination of guitar and processing resulting in a core central cycle with subtle variations and additions that further flesh out the whole work.
