Lullabies to Violaine

Released

While the Cocteau Twins had a string of remarkable albums, their singles and, especially earlier in their career, many standalone EPs contained a wide number of their most crucial songs, which earlier compilations touched on but never fully brought together. Released years after the band’s ending, Lullabies to Violaine fills that gap with an exhaustive and attractively presented compilation of nearly every last stray track, including some of their most remarkable compositions like “Pearly-Dewdrops’ Drop,” “The Spangle Maker” and “Aikea-Guinea.”
