Soft Bomb

Released

Martin Phillipps was perfectly frank in later years about how the experience of Soft Bomb was a comedown after the success of Submarine Bells, with a fraught recording, the collapse of US label support as the industry started chasing grunge to a ridiculous degree and more, causing the band to fracture. The shame of it is that Soft Bomb is at its best equal to the strengths of Submarine Bells, beginning with another stone-cold Chills classic “The Male Monster From The Id” and showcasing both whimsical interstitial moments and lovely songs throughout.
